Frequently Asked Questions

Deposit:

The deposit is 20% of the venue rental fee and is non-refundable. Deposit is applied towards the balance. The balance is due two weeks prior to your event.

Restrictions:

Regrettably The Joy is not a child-friendly event venue. Management request no children under the age of 16. Special arrangements are negotiable with management.

Hours:

Events will have 6 hours of access to our facility. Additional hours can be added for a fee. All events must end at Midnight. All decorations and personal items must be removed at the end of the event.

Parking:

The Joy is in the heart of Memphis in Cooper-Young. We have parking to the west and east of our building. There is also street parking and paid parking lots in the area.

Catering:

You may choose a caterer from our preferred vendor list or choose your own. If you select your own caterer, you must show proof of license and liability insurance. Caterers and their servers need to stay onsite during the entire event.

Decorations:

Banners, signs, decorations, etc. are not to be taped, glued or otherwise affixed to walls, floors and/or hung from light fixtures or ceilings. Absolutely no glitter or confetti allowed in our venue. All candles must be in enclosed containers. Anything other than tabletop decorations must be approved prior to event.

Sound System:

We do not have speakers or any type of sound system at our venue.
